TCS Sponsors The Voice Contestants in Concert

 

Refinement Records announces summer concert tour for three 2013 Utah contestants of
“The Voice;” Tour and just added a stop in St. George on June 28; Ryan Innes, Amy Whitcombe and Midas Whale will join forces on stage.

St. George, UT, June 5, 2013 — Three Utah contestants who made it past the battle round of the popular national TV talent show “The Voice,” will head out on a summer concert tour sponsored by Refinement Records, a new artist development company in Draper. The three – Ryan Innes, Amy Whitcomb and the group Midas Whale – will make stops in Safford, Arizona, June 13, Provo, Utah, June 14 and Rexburg, Idaho June 15, then on to St. George, Utah on June 28 at 7:00PM in the Cox Auditorium. Atlantic Records band, Fictionist will also appear.

Adam Reader, president and founder of Refinement Records, said the tour idea was hatched with Sammy Schultz, VP of Artist Management, to bring these talented musicians closer to their fan base and catch the excitement the three created during national broadcasts of “The Voice.” Schultz has worked with all three of theses artists many times over the last few years. Reader said, “Sam is an amazing promoter and has put on a multitude of concerts all over.”

“We have remarkable musical talent in Utah that are getting national recognition,” said
Reader. “To see three contestants from the state compete so well with others across the country on “The Voice” is just another acknowledgement that there’s something very special here. I believe that Utah has the ability to be what Seattle was in the early 90s – a musical haven for great acts that will have a national following.”

TCS ANNOUNCES NEW PR & CREATIVE SERVICES DIRECTOR


The St. George-based agency, Tenney Clemons and Saarelainen (TCS) Advertising & Public Relations announces the hiring of local writer, producer and communications specialist Melynda Thorpe Burt.

Founder of Melynda Creative, Thorpe Burt has been working in St. George serving the public relations and marketing needs of local businesses and organizations since 2009. Prior to moving to St. George, she worked as creative services director at Utah Valley University and served as a communications adjunct faculty and internship coordinator from 2002-2009.

Thorpe Burt serves on the DOCUTAH International Film Festival organizing committee and Heart Walk Foundation Gala Committee. Formerly, she has served on the UVU Rebranding Image Committee, Utah Ballet Board of Directors, and the Springville Museum of Art Board of Directors.

Last September, Thorpe Burt traveled to south Peru to write and film a documentary about the plight of the indigenous Q’ero Tribes of the Andes Mountains. Found on the brink of starvation in 2003, Thorpe Burt’s work chronicles the phenomenal tale of how southern Utah’s Tim and Penelope Eicher of Dammeron Valley have spent a decade working to help the Q’ero build trout farms, greenhouses and schoolhouses and to become self-sustaining in their beloved high mountain homeland.   


Thorpe Burt is recipient of several national communications awards including Paragon Award for Best Feature Article in Nation by the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations at Chicago, Ill., Excellence in Alumni Magazine Publications by NCMPR at Costa Mesa, Calif., and

Excellence in Creative Marketing Materials by CASE (Council for the Advancement of Secondary Education) at Costa Mesa, Calif. After graduating from Brigham Young University, she began her career at Fleishman-Hillard International Public Relations Agency in New York City and has traveled the internationally writing and publishing for magazines and news organizations.
